Have an excellent long weekend. I’m largely indifferent to the British monarchy but at least we got a holiday out of it. I also enjoy The Crown as well.
EDIT: forgot to mention the most important part, am starting the weekend off with drink. Good day (and long weekend) to you all.

I found it entertaining that when I lived in Ontario (specifically Hamilton) that people shot off fireworks on Victoria Day. I think it’s because the city only allowed fireworks twice a year - Canada Day and Victoria Day. Why Victoria Day? I have no idea.
Here in Alberta it seems like everyone goes camping, despite it almost always being bad weather.

Yeah it’s pretty popular around here to go camping or to a cottage during this long weekend. I’m not really sure why fireworks would be allowed on Victoria Day, but it’s probably because it’s usually the first long weekend with proper outdoor weather (i.e. not freezing our arses). It’s especially welcome after the long winter we’ve had, not to mention it’s still colder than I would normally expect for late May weather.

It’s been cooler than usual here as well. We are still hoping to get our garden planted today though.
